Announcements

St Andrew’s West Walking Group – 25th April 2026

The next walk will take place on Saturday 25th April and will be to Chatelherault Country Park. We will meet at Glasgow Central Station at 9.40am to take the 9.48 train to Chatelherault arriving at 10.19. Those going by car can meet us at the Visitor Centre to start the walk at around 10.30. It is a 2 hour walk around the Avon Water Gorge, depending on the weather conditions. If you are interested in coming along, please speak to Rory and he will add you to the WhatsApp Group. We have three options for lunch provided by Charlotte and we can decide on the best choice nearer the date.

Warm Welcome Space

The next Warm Space will be on Wednesday 29th April 2026, 11.30am-1.30pm.  The Warm Welcome Space will continue every Wednesday morning from 11.30am.  We encourage you all to come along and bring your friends.

Christian Aid Week – Can you help?

This year Christian Aid Week runs from 10th–16th May and as usual, we will be supporting this by holding various events throughout the week.

This year’s theme is Faithful Action and our donations will be helping mothers in Nairobi, Kenya, to combat the daily struggle to feed their children.

Events planned are as follows:

Sunday 10th May – Christian Aid Week Service, followed by a modest lunch and home baking stall.

Wednesday 13th May – Christian Aid Pop Up Stall at Welcome Warm Space

70K in May – as a congregation, in our own time or as a group, can we walk, hike, cycle or swim 70k or more by keeping a note of, sharing and adding up our kilometres?

Christian Aid Quiz – yours to peruse for only £1!

Not all of our group are available to volunteer at these events, so we are looking for volunteers to help make these events happen. So if you can help, please let us know!

Or alternatively, if you are unable to help out at these events, why not suggest another event we could run at a time when you can help out. Speak to any of the Christian Aid Group about those ideas! (Clare, Lynn, Avril, Grant, Ingrid, Kirsty, Sadie, Rory, Andreas, Parinita, Charlotte, Ian or Evelyn) Why not join us?

More information to follow soon.

We have 7 days to make a difference, let’s make it count – together!

Help Us Write Our Action Plan!

Would you like to play a key part in setting the vision of St. Andrew’s West?

Following our recent Congregational Survey, and subsequent Kirk Session meeting discussing its findings, we are putting together a small, short-life team who will help complete our church’s Action Plan. Using the output from both the survey and the meeting to do this, they will assess our current strengths, weaknesses, and place realistic targets to inform our future development at this critical time in our congregation’s life.

This group will be short-life, working to return a draft of the Plan to the Session meeting on 11th June, and is open to anyone within our church family. If you would be interested in helping with this, please email stawpc@gmail.com. Due to the quick turnaround, please express your interest by Sunday 26th April.

Communications

We operate a congregational-wide email list that keeps you up to date with any church news throughout the week. If you would like to sign up, please email stawpc@gmail.com asking to join.  If you have any news you would like to share, please use the same email address to share it with the list.

Free-Will Offering

As part of worship, a cash free-will offering is taken and uplifted, the proceeds of which directly go to support the life and work of our church. There is no obligation to contribute, and you are more than welcome to simply pass the bag on to your neighbour.

If you would prefer to contribute electronically, then offerings may also be made via the Church bank account.  Details are:

Name of Account: St. Andrew’s West Church

Sort Code: 83-54-60

Account No.: 00245763

Remember that UK taxpayers may increase their giving by 25% using Gift Aid. Please speak to Avril, Gift Aid Convener or Billy, Treasurer for information.

Feedback and Suggestions

We are always keen to hear feedback and suggestions on any aspect of Church life. You can get in touch with the Kirk Session either by emailing stawpc@gmail.com or by using the anonymous feedback form at: http://forms.gle/NAnKyWFCD7kuSQy8 (clickable via the church website).  We will consider all correspondence received at each Kirk Session meeting, which typically occurs once every other month.
