Commonwealth Games – opening the church to visitors
As I’m sure you are aware, the Commonwealth Games are coming to Glasgow very soon. St. Andrew’s West would like to provide a welcoming space for visitors for worship, hospitality, to explore our lovely building or simply be in a quiet place for rest and reflection.
To this end, the church will be open to visitors, in addition to normal worship, during the following times:
Sunday 26th July from 1.00pm-4.00pm
Wednesday 29th July (during our Welcome Café) from 11.30am-4.00pm
Sunday 2nd August from 1.00pm-4.00pm
We are grateful to the folks who have already volunteered to welcome people to our building at these times. Please come along and support them – you never know who you might meet!
For other events happening across the city, check out Glasgow Churches Together website and Facebook page.
An Ecumenical Service of Prayer for the Commonwealth Games will be held on Sunday 26th July at 3.00pm at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, 196 Clyde Street, Glasgow.
Communications
We operate a congregational-wide email list that keeps you up to date with any church news throughout the week. If you would like to sign up, please email stawpc@gmail.com asking to join. If you have any news you would like to share, please use the same email address to share it with the list.
Free-Will Offering
As part of worship, a cash free-will offering is taken and uplifted, the proceeds of which directly go to support the life and work of our church. There is no obligation to contribute, and you are more than welcome to simply pass the bag on to your neighbour.
If you would prefer to contribute electronically, then offerings may also be made via the Church bank account. Details are:
