Congregational Action Plan – Planning for the Future
At the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 2025, a new system was introduced to replace the Local Church Review process whereby every congregation is required to complete a 5 Year Congregational Action Plan. This Plan should bring together the congregation’s vision for its mission, worship, life and service, taking account of its present position, its capacity and finances.
As a first step, we are asking everyone to complete a Congregational Action Plan Survey which will be anonymous. The survey is designed to help the Kirk Session understand how the congregation views the current state of our church, in order to build our 5 year Action Plan in the most effective way. Paper copies of the survey are available over the next few Sundays, and it is also available electronically by request to stawpc@gmail.com. Once complete, please drop it into the box in the sanctuary on any Sunday, or email a completed electronic copy, up to, and including, 1st March.
If you have any difficulty in completing this survey, please contact stawpc@gmail.com or speak to Grant Henderson.
Congregation-Wide Emails
As you may be aware, a large proportion of our congregation have electronic copies of Church documents, such as this Order of Service and our Virtual Friday Prayer Group, sent to their email addresses on a weekly basis.
We are moving to a new system for congregation-wide communications via. email: from now on, all such communications will come from the central address stawpc@gmail.com.
If you would like to remain, or become, part of this list, then you need to actively sign-up to receive these communications (even if you currently do). To do so, please send an email to stawpc@gmail.com that contains the following text:
“I consent to the use by the Congregation of my personal information provided through this communication for congregation-wide electronic communications. Electronically signed: [Name] [Date]”
Please note that the information you provide through this communication will be retained by us for as long as it is required for the purpose for which it was collected or unless you withdraw your consent, which you may do at any time by emailing stawpc@gmail.com or speaking to any member of the Kirk Session.
In the future, if you wish to send a congregation-wide email, please send a request to stawpc@gmail.com, which will then send it on to all members of the list as appropriate. Specific-purpose emails that are not congregation-wide, such as individual and small working group communications, may still be sent without going through the stawpc@gmail.com address. Please note that we will continue to provide physical Orders of Service on Sunday mornings as required.
Thank you for your cooperation and engagement with this new operating procedure.
