We regularly journey together as a congregation through important Christian festivals…
Easter
We hold additional services through Holy Week, bringing fresh perspective and meaning on this important season.
In recent years, these services have included Palm Sunday celebrations, collective Passover meals, Maundy Thursday communion, Good Friday services, Bible Studies, and Easter Sunday worship.
We are particularly glad to come together with our friends and neighbours at local churches on Easter Sunday for dawn worship in Blythswood Square Gardens, before hosting them for Easter breakfast in our church café.
Christmas
We hold additional services at Christmas time too, celebrating Christ’s arrival into the world.
We enjoy journeying through Advent together, and our wreath of candles lead our way through the season. In recent years, we have also celebrated Christingle services together.
We typically enjoy Christmas Eve Watchnight worship, together with other local congregations, at 11.30pm preceded by mulled wine (non-alcoholic) and warm mince pies.
On Christmas day we come together with our friends and neighbours at local churches, typically worshiping in Adelaide Place Baptist Church for an all-age service at 10.30am.
Significant Occasions
We hold other services throughout the year to mark significant occasions in our church life.
We give thanks for Harvest each Autumn, where we reflect upon the changing meaning of this festival in our constantly evolving world.
We commemorate Remembrance in November each year, where we give thanks for those who have laid down, and continue to lay down, their lives for the freedoms we are able to enjoy.
We reflect on those we’ve lost, both in the past year and before, in a Memorial service on the final week of the Church’s calendar year.
We celebrate other events in the Church’s calendar together, which have recently included baptism, profession of faith, ordination to the eldership, and marriage blessings.
